Did you know we are a non-profit?
Since 2010, Drake Music Scotland has championed and developed Figurenotes resources to support musicians and educators globally.
Led by the ambitions of disabled artists, Drake Music Scotland works with composers, music creators, ensembles and performers to change music for good. We believe amplifying voices, raising visibility and providing support to achieve artistic and musical ambitions is essential for disabled artists to thrive. We are dedicated to developing instruments, repertoire and accessible technology, and championing new ways to engage in creative activity.
Based in Edinburgh, UK, we work all across Scotland and with global partners, creating opportunities for inclusive, accessible music-making the world over.

How Figurenotes Came to Scotland
Drake Music Scotland first discovered Figurenotes on a trip to Finland and loved its simplicity. The adaptability and instant accessibility of this notation resulted in a learning environment that produced incredible results, while feeling inclusive and encouraging.
We brought Figurenotes to the UK for a pilot in 2010 and spent two years researching its impact in various settings. You can see some of the results of this research in the impact section of this website.
After being blown away by the results, we have integrated Figurenotes into almost all of our projects. We launched our resources in 2012 and have been building our offering ever since.
